About the Role:
GMI Productions is seeking a highly skilled and creative Senior Producer to join our team full-time. This role is central to shaping the next era of The Brandon Gonez Show — a leading digital culture and conversation platform reaching audiences across the country.
You will develop stories, lead shoots, manage editors, support podcast expansion, and produce high-quality, social-first content. You’ll play a key role in shaping the show’s editorial direction, building repeatable formats, and bringing culturally relevant stories to life in fresh and compelling ways.
This is a senior role for someone who blends strong creative instincts with excellent production leadership.
What You’ll Do:
Production Leadership
- Build and manage the weekly content calendar
- Lead story development, research, scripting frameworks, and segment planning
- Direct shoots, field production, b-roll, and BTS capture
- Oversee editors to ensure fast-turnaround, high-quality deliverables
- Collaborate with the Head of Production on workflow improvements and systems
Story & Format Development
- Develop angles that tap into culture, conversations, and trending topics across Canada
- Shape episode structures, openings, arcs, and signature segments
- Identify and secure compelling guests — creators, innovators, leaders, artists
- Create outlines and frameworks that enhance the host’s voice and delivery
Social-First Storytelling
- Lead production for TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts
- Package content with strong hooks, pacing, and platform-specific storytelling
- Produce cutdowns and variations for multi-platform distribution
- Work closely with the Social Lead to align deliverables with platform strategy
- Optimize content for reach, engagement, and community retention
Systems & Workflow
- Build templates and processes for pitches, shoots, edits, and approvals
- Collaborate with our Partnerships team on campaign-driven content
- Coordinate with our other in-house brands for cross-platform amplification
- Manage production documentation, calendars, and occasional freelancers
Qualifications:
- 5+ years producing digital-first content (culture, lifestyle, creator-led, conversational, or docu-style)
- Exceptional editorial judgment and storytelling abilities
- Experience producing or structuring podcasts (audio and/or video)
- Strong understanding of YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, and social-first production
- Experience leading shoots and guiding editors
- Proven ability to juggle multiple projects in fast-paced environments
- A portfolio demonstrating strong story development and platform awareness
- Experience building workflows, templates, or repeatable production systems
- Education or background in digital media, film, communications, or related field
